W podlinkowanym niżej wątku na Amigans.net pojawiło się dziś info od kas1e, że dzięki Maxowi z ACube już niebawem będzie dostępna aktualizacja UBoot dla Sam460. Po jej zastosowaniu będzie w końcu można wyświetlić obraz z UBoot na ekranie monitora przy użyciu kart z serii Radeon RX :ok:

This is a list of what is new in this version:

- updated x86 emulator to initialize graphic card BIOS

- added support for Radeon RX cards (list of tested cards below)

- added FAT support

- fixed USB handling especially for keyboard support

- new boot logo and menu graphics

- fixed several typos

Po okresie absencji w amigowym świecie odkurzyłem swojego Sam460LE i zmobilizowałem się wreszcie do aktualizacji UBoot 8-)

Wybrałem opcję update'u z płyty CD, a sama procedura przebiegła bardzo sprawnie i bez niespodzianek (każdy update firmware to dla mnie moment wstrzymania oddechu :mrgreen: ).

Po update wszystko śmiga pięknie. Potwierdzam współpracę nowej wersji UBoot z moją kartą graficzną:
Radeon RX 560, AFOX, 4 GB GDDR5, 0x67EF, polaris 11

:ok:

Jedyny drobny minusik to że nowy UBoot, podobnie jak poprzednia wersja, nie obsługuje klawiatury Logitech MX Keys, więc w razie potrzeby muszę przełączyć się na sprawdzoną K780 (ale to drobiazg w porównaniu do łączenia się z inną maszyną przez port szeregowy czy wymiany karty graficznej :lol: ).

Ciekawostka, że na moim AFOX Radeon HD 6450, którego użyłem na potrzeby wykonania update'u, w starej wersji UBoot wyświetlał obraz wyłącznie przez złącze RGB a po aktualizacji... tylko przez HDMI :D Przyznaję, że miałem przez chwilę mroczne myśli widząc czarny ekran po restarcie :D

Pojawiła się nowa aktualizacja że wsparciem dla bootowania z dysku NVME. Warto nadmienić że ten wycofany sterownik Kanninga nie mogł być używany na dysku bootowalnym. Tak więc super sprawa dla posiadaczy SAM z odpowiednim adapterem.

Ciekawe czy ta funkcjonalność w U-Boot dla SAM pojawiła się na zasadzie jakiegoś polubownego dogadania się z Kanningiem, który to podawał nieetyczne działania Acube jako przyczynę swoich ruchów z wycofaniem sterowników z obiegu?

A może było odwrotnie i to Acube zostało podrażnione i zadziałalo na zasadzie "Obraziłeś się i robisz z nas winnych, to my pokażemy że też taki sterownik możemy dla Amigowców zrobić...?

Tak czy owak temat NVMe wygląda nie tak ponuro jak to się mogło wydawać jeszcze kilka miesięcy temu.

Max dodał że ich rozwiązanie wymaga do działania sterownika dla AmigaOS 4.1, czyli pewnie w jakiś sposób przeprosili się z autorem.

ACube Systems is pleased to announce a new release of the U-Boot firmware for its Sam440 line of motherboards.

Following the recent update for the Sam460, the Sam440 now also benefits from enhanced support, including compatibility with NVMe SSDs. Additionally, this update introduces support for Radeon RX and Radeon HD graphics cards.

This release represents a significant investment of time and resources. Nevertheless, we have chosen to offer it at the symbolic price of €3.99.

Highlights of this release include:

Support for Radeon RX graphics cards (*)
Improved support for Radeon HD graphics cards (*)
NVMe SSD driver: boot directly from NVMe devices using a PCIe adapter (*)
Driver for the PCIe SATA2 Silicon Image 3132 controller, with support for booting from SSDs and DVDs (*)
Enhanced RAM access speed on Sam440ep-flex boards
New graphical interface style
Revised ‘sata’ command, now displaying more detailed information about drivers and connected devices
Serial console improvements: menu navigation via the W (up) and S (down) keys

Note:

Features marked with an asterisk (*) require a PCI-to-PCIe bridge.
Radeon RX and Radeon HD graphics cards also require a specific driver (to be sold separately by A-EON Technology once available) for use with AmigaOS 4.

Update zrobiony, poszło gładko, choć szukanie napędu DVD i stres przy flashowaniu trochę męczące ;)
