Daytona675x:
There definitely will be the promised Amiga versions if the funding succeeds. I wouldn't have said "yes" if I wasn't sure about that.Take that as a guarantee.
Easy enough for me, at least ;)

PS.
Tymczasem można zaposnać się z wersją 0.1 dla Windows i MacOSX:

No fajnie, szkoda że o Wings Remastered od dawna cicho. To już chyba rok strzelił odkąd wpłacałem pre-order.

If you read Trevor Dickinson's latest article ( http://blog.a-eon.biz/blog/?p=10435 ) you'll already know it:

For the upcoming SAKU 2017 Amiga event in Finland I promised to provide a fresh T57 AmigaOS4 version.

I could have used the one I showed during the Gamescom in Cologne, but I thought: let's pretty much finish it, feature-wise. So I spent some time to add two of the three remaining things: joypad support and two-player-mode :) (the one thing that remains is fullscreen mode) Unfortunately I only have one dual-stick joypad that works on the Amiga at the moment. And my girl-friend is away tonight, so I had to control both players, one using keyboard and mouse, the other with my good old cheapo-joypad :P The video is somewhat long this time because of that and because I forgot which keyboard-keys were assigned to which commands, so especially in the middle I'm doing quite some trial-and-error key-pressing :P And I accidentially fired up another single-player. Sorry for that.

This time the test machine was my X5000. I lowered the workbench-screen's resolution to 1280x720 so that the game-window appears larger in this video ;) As you can see the game runs butter-smooth on that system, even in its current only half-optimized state.

Three Tower57 port Tabor fun facts:

- the latest SPE build reaches up to 80 fps. This simply demolishs the sam460ex, factor 2.

- when running the latest FPU (!) build on the Tabor it reaches up to 40 fps (!) (old OS version, first fpu-emu).

- when running the latest FPU build on the sam460ex it reaches up to 40 fps.
So the Tabor is even en par with the sam460 if running the version which is incompatible with its FPU :)

And before you say sth. a la "then you optimized away most fpu instructions"...
Wrong, think, man, think - and don't forget that the SPE build runs twice as fast... Yeah, the SPE is a pretty fast FPU unit indeed, but looking at the emu-speed that whole A1222 delivers (y)

Still anybody out there making up stories about the A1222's performance compared to the SAMs or about the power of the SPE? LOL

Latest Tower57 Amiga-Port Benchmarks (fps)

Reference scene:
v19.44 assets, sewer, savepoint 1, quite some debris, window-mode

Current Steam PC version:
Windows, Sony Vaio i5 2.3 GHz, official Steam-build: 27 fps :D
Yes, no kidding: a sam460ex with the latest optimized Amiga version (30 fps) beats the official PC version on my Windows-laptop :)
The difference becomes even larger in that heavy parallax scene I mention below (i5: down to 14-17 fps, sam460ex: ~25 fps)

And, best of all: the PC version uses OpenGL hardware rendering whereas our poor Amiga ports render each and every pixel in software :)

Today's version (2018-01-23, pre-release)

MOS, PowerMac G4, 733MHz, Radeon9000, hicolor: 26
AOS4, sam440ep, Radeon M9, hicolor: 21
AOS4, sam460ex, Radeon SI, hicolor: 41
AOS4, sam460ex, Radeon SI, truecolor: 30
AOS4, Tabor SPE, Radeon SI, hicolor: 73
AOS4, Tabor SPE, Radeon SI, truecolor: 59
AOS4, X5000, Radeon SI, hicolor: 135
AOS4, X5000, Radeon SI, truecolor: 110

Version from two months ago (2017-11-21)
(which also had gfx errors / lower quality)

MOS, PowerMac G4, 733MHz, Radeon9000, hicolor: crash, out of memory
AOS4, sam440ep, Radeon M9, hicolor: 13
AOS4, sam460ex, Radeon SI, hicolor: 20
AOS4, sam460ex, Radeon SI, truecolor: 17
AOS4, Tabor SPE, Radeon SI, truecolor: 37
AOS4, X5000, Radeon SI, hicolor: 79
AOS4, X5000, Radeon SI, truecolor: 70

And another one, only sam460ex truecolor, the numbers scale equally for the others:
Very heavy parallax scene, AmorsDen, top level, hotel door, crowd, cars, window-mode:

2018-01-23:
AOS4, sam460ex, Radeon SI, truecolor: 25

2017-11-21:
AOS4, sam460ex, Radeon SI, truecolor: 10 (and heavily broken gfx-output)

To make a long story short:
the whole stuff is now playable all the time even on an 440ep; more or less like the good old 25Hz Chaos Engine on an A500 ;)

Oh, and the hicolor-version has been drastically visually improved because by now I draw all the lights myself / procedurally (which is muuuuuuch faster and allowed me to easily add dithering almost for free, makes a huge difference, quality-wise).

Besides that the loading times have been reduced extremely, starting a new game only takes a fraction of the old version's time, the savegame UI is now fluid, etc., etc., the list is endless, really.

Oh, in case you read the small note in the latest Amiga Future regarding T57:
1) the (online) PC version of T57 is not really long out (and console / boxed versions are not), in fact the version this Amiga port is en-par with is the fixed version from end of december (plus many additional fixes / optimizations).
2) release date for the Amiga port is not Q3 2018 but early Q1 2018 ;)
3) performance depends on hardware, see above; Tabor-builds run much faster than 30-35 fps and simply have no sound because there's no sound-driver yet, of course there's sound for everybody else :)

Cheers,
Daytona675x

Tower57 on A1222/Tabor out-performs the official Steam-build: 27 fps on a Windows, Sony Vaio i5 2.3 GHz. What more is there to say? ;-)

AMIGA version is out!

Hello again everyone,

I am happy to announce that the Amiga version of Tower 57 is ready! (the minimum system requirements are posted below)

Although I didn't write the port myself, this is one milestone that is particularly close to my heart, as the Amiga 500 was my gateway into game making. So I'm glad I can finally cross "releasing an Amiga game" off my bucket list, although I'm admittedly about 25 years late (and it only runs on "modern" Amigas ^_^#)

Unfortunately we didn't have a specific Amiga reward tier, therefore I don't have a list of backers who backed specifically for the Amiga version.

So if you would like to play Tower 57 on your Amiga rig, please don't hesitate to contact me either through Kickstarter or directly at benitosub at hotmail.com and I will provide you with a download key!

And finally if you are active on Amiga forums / the Amiga scene, please help us spread the word! I would love to bring more games to the system that made me the gamer I am, so hopefully the reception will be good :)

Next up, and in no particular order, will be:

- getting the console versions certified
- Linux version
- 3 content updates still in the pipeline
- bug and stability fixes
- physical rewards / boxed edition

So as you can see I've still got quite some work ahead of me! In the meantime I sincerely hope all of you who own a modern Amiga system will enjoy the game.

Cheers,
Marco

MINIMUM SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS:

AOS4: AmigaOS 4.1 FE Upd1, >= 600 MHz, Gfx-card with Compositing support
MorphOS: MorphOS >= 3.9, >= 600 MHz, Gfx-card with TinyGL support
AROS: x86 (e.g. Icaros Desktop >= 2.2), Gfx-card with Mesa3D support

IMPORTANT NOTE: If you wish to play with a joypad or in 2-player mode, you will need an OS supported dual-stick joypad.
